This isn’t a traditional campaign.
LessThanUThink is a student-based anti-binge drinking campaign consisting of advertising and public relations students at The University of Alabama through the student-run firm Capstone Agency. The campaign focuses on college campuses and reaches out to students through humorous messages that emphasize the negative social consequences of binge drinking. Funded by the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility, the campaign was launched in 2010 on The University of Alabama campus. Due to the high success rate of phase 1, LessThanUThink has decided to take the campaign nationwide, with additional funding from the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association on behalf of the Alabama Alcohol Beverage Control Board.
Shaquille O’Neil partnered with the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility to film a public service announcement to raise awareness of the national problem of college-aged binge drinking. You may not want to tell your friends that they’ve had just a little too much to drink, so let Shaq do it. Forward the PSA to them. After all, who would dare not listen to Shaq!
